President Museveni has agreed to give the private sector a seat on cabinet.
This means that soon, there could be a special ministry of private sector affairs and a minister of the private sector.
The CEOs demanded for this seat from the president saying that cabinet deliberated on issues that directly affect them and therefore their voices need to be heard before these decisions are made.
“We believe that if we had presence in that room as private sector when these decisions are taking place, we could quote easily and quickly tell you that maybe this is not the right way or that.”
Barbra Mulwana, Chairperson of the PSFU
Museveni in his speech agreed and asked them to select one person who will then be representing them on cabinet to air their views and positions on various issues.
The Presidential CEO forum was created with a vision of becoming the leading Forum that champions Private Sector entrepreneurs to actively participate in economic activities that foster private sector development.
