(URN) The Agago based Paorinher Soccer Academy has excelled in the 2021 East African Chipkizi Cup Youth football tournament in Arusha City in Tanzania.
The 2021 East African Chipkizi Cup Youth football tournament that started on December 14th at St Constantine International School climaxed on December 20th, 2021.
It attracted over 168 teams with over 2200 players. Uganda whose ambassadors were Paorinher Soccer Academy and Teletubbies Kids League Academy managed to win two Gold medals, two Silvers, and one Bronze Medal.
Paorinher Soccer Academy that presented their U11, 13 &15 teams emerged Champions in the U11, first runner up in the U13 category, and second runner ups in the U15 category.
Paorinher Academy emerged victorious in the U11 while Fountain Gate from Tanzania and Teletubies from Uganda emerged 1st and 2nd Runner Ups respectively. Meanwhile, in the U13 category, Paorinher emerged 1st runner ups after the champions Tanzanite Memerani thumped them 8-7 on spot kicks following a one-all draw during full time.
General Sports Club of Tanzania emerged as the second runner-up. Teletubbies Kids from Uganda, which played under the U11, 13 & U9 emerged victors in the U9 category after defeating Tanzania’s Fountain Gate by a 3-1 goal scoreline.
Paorinher’s Coach, Henry Oryem Kissinger says the individual Awards saw Agago’s Youngster John Baptist Opio named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) and was awarded a 1-month football training exchange program in July 2022 in Spain.
Paorinher’s Justine Ajara emerged as the U11 Top Scorer while Teletubbies Kids League Young Star brought home the U9 top scorer accolade. The tournament attracted Academies from Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Zanzibar, Burundi in different age categories including; U7, 11, 13, 15, 17, 20, and Girls 15 & 17 years.
