According to the Police report, the Nissan Xtrail that was being driven by Fiona Alobo hit a Mercedes Benz semi-trailer registration number UBK /09C/ ZF-4408 at 11 pm from Barogal Village, Palenga Town Council in Omoro District near the World Food Program –WFP depot.

(URN) One person has died while four others are critically injured after a road crash along Gulu –Kampala Highway on Thursday night.

A Traffic Police officer who declined to be named told URN that the Nissan hit the trailer when the trailer was joining the road from the Western side of the road, leaving it wrenched.

According to the officer, Angee and Alobo were rushed to Gulu Regional Referral Hospital where Angee was pronounced dead at around 2 am, meanwhile, Atimango, Kilara, and Apiyo were taken to FLAMA Health Care Center in Gulu City but were later transferred to St. Mary’s Hospital Lacor where they are currently receiving treatment.

He says the driver of the semi-trailer who is yet to be identified is still at large after abandoning the vehicle at the crime scene while the mangled Nissan Xtrail was pulled from the scene and parked at Koro Police Station. The fatal road crash is still being investigated under Omoro TAR 74/2021.

Julius Okello Opira, a member of the Music and Entertainment Network –an association of local artists says the four crash victims were from Kampala escorting the late Angee who had traveled to Uganda from abroad and that they were rushing for a music concert at Bomah Hotel in Gulu City.

According to Okello, Daniel Kilara –a local artist commonly known as Judas Rapknowledge who is currently receiving treatment at St. Mary’s Hospital Lacor sustained injuries in his chest, and that X-ray report from Gulu Imaging Center indicates that he has a crack in one of his rib bones.
