The Uganda Police has arrested 10 people in connection to the now rampant Northern bypass attacks.
This followed a week of Viral videos making the rounds of victims of attacks by thugs along Kampala’s Northern Bypass
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire made the revelations on his Twitter handle writing;
“Due to the increase of vandalism of motorvehicles and attacks on persons along the northern by-pass , our task teams have embarked on operations with an aim of identifying the criminals and their promoters . Yesterday , 10 suspects were arrested around areas of kyebando flyover. “
Owoyesigire adds that the 10 were found with multiple tools used in breaking and entering into unsuspecting victims’ vehicles. They were also found in possession of drugs.
Recently, the Northern bypass has become notorious for thugs who pelt big stones to smash windscreens with the intention of robbing drivers.
The areas most victims say they are being attacked at include Kalerwa, Kyebando and Bwaise.
