The Police in Kaberamaido have arrested two people for allegedly participating and inciting mob against a 43- year- old woman of Angudawele- A Village, Kaberamaido Sub County.
Those arrested are the son to the deceased, Joseph Angai, 24 and his neighbour, Christopher Epasu, 27. The duo, with another still at large, Robert Opige, 25 allegedly beat to comma, Norah Alapo after she was reportedly found in sexual act with a neigbour, John Ademu, 52, by the roadside.
According to the officer in charge of criminal investigations at Kaberamaido Central Police Station, Samuel Olaki, the suspects reportedly found the pair in a situation that embarrassed the family. Both Alapo and Ademu were beaten before they were rushed to Kaberamaido Hospital where the former died on Thursday morning.
Olaki says that the incident happened around 9:00pm on Wednesday. The investigator adds that preliminary investigations indicate that the son has been suspicious of his mother’s relationship with Ademu.
Angai told our reporter that he was returning home in the evening when he heard noise from the roadside. He says that upon flashing to see where the noise was coming from, he recognized his mother in a sexual act with the another man.
Angai says that his father, whom he stays with, is paralyzed for some time now after a long illness. He, however, says that he didn’t intend to beat the mother but when the neighbours heard his alarm, they overpowered him and descended on the ‘couple.’
“My mother has been in love with Ademu for quite some time. They were warned by the clan members but they never heed to the warnings”, he said.
But Ademu, when reached on his hospital bed said that he was ambushed on his way back home by those who assaulted him.
Olaki said that the case has been registered under CRB 041/2022 and the suspects will be charged with murder.
