Uganda U-17 Women’s National Team has intensified preparations ahead of the first round clash against Ethiopia in the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
Uganda is slated to host the first leg on March 4th at the St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende before traveling to Addis Abba for the return leg fixture after two weeks.
Head coach Ayub Khalifa Kiyingi has dropped 20 players and remained with a provisional team of 30 players. The team entered residential camp on February 12th, 2022, at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.
The coach said that he will keep preparing the team and eventually select the final squad that will play the first leg match against Ethiopia. He said some of the players will return on Monday since they left to join their teams to play in the FUFA Women’s League.
According to the qualifiers, only three teams from Africa will qualify to represent Africa at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup to take place in India.
