SMASK edged past debutants Light High School in a 2-0 win at their favorite home ground, St Mary’s stadium, kitende which doubles as a home ground for Vipers SC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League. Thanks to Oloya Habibuh’s first-half goal and Olimi Nyorwa’s 80th-minute goal that sealed the home-based win.
The game kicked off at 4 pm amidst a huge crowd composed of students of Light High school Seguku, SMASK students, and spectators who are not students.
The hosts got an early lead through Oloya Habibuh in the 1st minute of the game after a bladder from Light High school’s goalkeeper. The home side continued pressing hard but couldn’t easily again break the deadlock commanded by captain Luyiga Reagan.
The visitors put up a great display but were not clinical in the final third to level up the game.
Center referee Wasswa Alex sent both sides back to the dressing rooms after the first stanza of the game.
The second half began with green lights for the visitors but couldn’t put the ball at the back of the net, youngster Semwogere Michael known to many as Kante was a joy to watch in the second half to watch with his dribbling skills and swift right foot.
With 10 minutes to the final whistle, Olimi Nyorwa scored a stunner off Mukiibi Marvin’s cross to double the lead for the visitors. Light high school players continued to press hard but visitors couldn’t give them any chance to put the ball at the back of the net and at 90 minutes, center referee Wasswa Alex ended the game.
Newly appointed vipers SC head coach Alex Isabirye was in the watch of the entertaining final.

The MVP of the tournament is Semwogere Michael (Kante) of Light High School Seguku, the top scorer with 6 goals is kiyemba of St Mary’s Kitende and the best goalkeeper is Lukuya Kenneth of SMASK.
