Two people lost their lives in a harrowing shooting that unfolded along Masaka road in Wakiso district. The victims included an individual in Army uniform and a woman who tragically fell victim to a stray bullet.
The events transpired around 8:00 PM, casting a dark shadow over the area. The woman, who hailed from a nearby market, was caught in the line of fire as she sought cover. The gunshot claimed her life, leaving the community in shock and mourning.

According to a security operative, the chain of events started in Lyantonde as two kidnappers, disguised in UPDF uniforms, abducted two soldiers. As they progressed in a vehicle with license plate UAk-375U, one of the kidnapped soldiers managed to escape.

Upon reaching Buddo, the situation escalated dramatically. One of the kidnappers stepped out of the car momentarily, providing an opportunity for the escaped soldier to act. Utilizing his skills, he disarmed the assailant and swiftly retaliated, firing a fatal shot through the front door.
The wounded kidnapper fled the scene, leaving behind a trail of bullets that inadvertently struck the innocent woman. Her life, tragically cut short in the crossfire.
