NRM Candidate Muzenze Wins LC 3 Chairperson Seat in Namayumba

URN.Tolbert Musinguzi, the Wakiso District Returning Officer declared Joseph Muzenze the winner of Namayumba Sub County LC 3 Chairperson by-elections after getting a total number of 2,057 Votes against his rival Mustafa Ssekweyama of National Unity Platform who got 1,391 votes, Joseph Bwete – an Independent Candidate collected 269 votes – and the Forum For Democratic Change candidate Matia Wamala who got 52 votes.

The National Resistance Movement- NRM candidate has won the by-election for Namayumba Sub County LC 3 Chairperson seat in Wakiso district.

Tolbert Musinguzi, the Wakiso District Returning Officer declared Joseph Muzenze the winner of Namayumba Sub County LC 3 Chairperson by-elections after getting a total number of 2,057 Votes against his rival Mustafa Ssekweyama of National Unity Platform who got 1,391 votes, Joseph Bwete – an Independent Candidate collected 269 votes –  and the Forum For Democratic Change candidate Matia Wamala who got 52 votes.

Muzenze was declared the duly elected LC 3 Chairperson at around 9:20 pm at Wakiso district headquarters.

Muzenze has retained his seat as the chairperson LC3 Namayumba after the electral commission made a mistake in his names in the past elections and also the NUP candidate died on the day of the polling day and the electro commission decided to cancel the elections of LC3 candidate.

After being declared as the chairperson,  Muzenze said that he is going to start where he ended this work during his term of office of five years and he wants to see that Namayumba has good roads, schools, and good health facilities.

In another election, the Wakiso District Returning Officer declared Florence Namukasa, candidate of NUP as the winner of the post of woman councilor representing Kiteezi III at Kasangati Town council.

Namukasa got 511 Votes and the NRM candidate Ruth Namusoke of NRM got 473 votes. Namukasa promised service delivery to the people of Kiteezi III.

Also, the Wakiso District Returning Officer declared Charles Genza of DP as the councilor representing Dowe-Gyanyi-Bwebajja electro area who got 238 votes and Joseph Kiribaaki NUP Candidate got 44 votes.

The Wakiso District Returning Officer Tolbert Musinguzi said that the by-elections have gone on well without any interference and he said only one by-election is pending, and that for the election of elder persons in Kasangati town council, two tied the second time and he said they are waiting for what the electro commission head office will decide.
