Asuman Basalirwa, member of the representing Bugiri Municipality has been selected by opposition as their candidate for the Speakership race.
Basalirwa is the president of Justice Forum (JEEMA) from 2010 to date.He is the Chairperson of the Inter-Party Organisation on Dialogue (IPOD).
Asuman Basalirwa got 49 votes beating Hon. Odur Jonathan who got 20 votes.
He will be facing off, Anita Among on Friday as Parliament of Uganda elects a new Speaker.
