Hundreds of mourners have packed the home of the late Speaker of Parliament, Jacob Oulanyah in Ayom –lony Village, Lalogi Sub–County in Omoro District as they wait to receive his body from Kampala. Oulanyah’s body is expected to arrive in Omoro district this afternoon by a chopper that will land at Lalogi primary school after the state funeral at Kololo Ceremonial Ground in Kampala.
Once in Omoro, mourners will march with the body in a procession to Oulanyah’s home village where he will be laid to rest on Friday. Among the mourners gathered at the home are Oulanyah’s family members and relatives, the National Resistance Movement –NRM party supporters from different parts of the region, religious leaders led by Godfrey Loum, the Bishop of the Northern Uganda Diocese, political leaders from Acholi Sub –Region as well as other parts of the country, among others.
At Lalogi Trading Center, which is about 10kilometers from the deceased’s home, Oulanyah’s supporters dressed in yellow T-shirts bearing President, Yoweri Museveni’s portrait are holding his campaign posters while waiting to receive the body.
