URN.Paul Opige, the Local Council Chairperson of Wire Cell has identified the deceased as Florence Ileng 25 from Orengecoria village in Napak district. Her lifeless body was found lying behind a pit latrine Wednesday.
A jilted man is on the run after hitting his lover dead in Nakatunya ward Soroti City West Division at a drinking joint on Tuesday night. The suspect is 28-year-old Peter Lokeinon from the Napak district.
Paul Opige, the Local Council Chairperson of Wire Cell has identified the deceased as Florence Ileng 25 from Orengecoria village in Napak district. Her lifeless body was found lying behind a pit latrine Wednesday.
Opige explained that the suspect approached him the previous evening requesting that he sits them down to discuss their domestic issues and he had scheduled to hear their grievances Wednesday morning. The deceased’s elder sister, Lucy Sagal, says that her sister was involved in a domestic dispute with her lover.
She recalls that the late and her lover left for a drinking joint and never returned. Sagal reveals that the late has left behind four children whom she reportedly produced with a different man. He explained that the sister and the lover spent about one month with her but she chased them for overstaying. She claimed that the suspect has been threatening to end the life of her sister.
Oscar Greg Ageca, the East Kyoga Police Spokesperson, says that the suspect is still on the run. He says that preliminary information shows that the couple picked up a quarrel while drinking at a local joint and were separated by onlookers.
He explains that after being separated, the two relocated to another bar to enjoy music and dance but the deceased decided to dance with another man, which infuriated the suspect. According to Ogeca, the suspect reached out and grabbed the deceased, and dragged her behind the pit latrine where he hit her with a stone on the head to death.
