They believe athletics and swimming are activities that keep these young people lively and away from the obsession of social media, drugs, technology and other forms of immorality which are the biggest cause of health implications.
“We thought to ourselves why not serve the youth of this country through swimming and gym facility to drive them towards Heer’s passion for swimming and away from the vagaries of social media, drugs and idle minds Notwithstanding the numerous advantages offered by the new forms of technology, recent research has demonstrated beyond reasonable doubt that adolescent population over time unknowingly become internet addicts- a condition that consequently accentuates dangerous dependency on other harmful gadgets such as play stations at the expense of physical health, academics not to mention positive social interaction. According to Fame Mass, teenagers spend even more time than adults on social media (no surprise about that). Teens aged 13 to 18-years-old average 3 hours and 1 minute per day. Some teens, however, spend up to 9 hours every day on social media – much more time than they spend in school. There is a huge rise in the number of youths and adults struggling withinsomnia, depression, obesity, and eyesightissues due to enslavement to the internet. Apart from social media, our youth are battling drug abuse at an early age foreshadowing increased risk of serious drug use later in life, school failure, and poor judgment which may put teens at risk from accidents, violence, unplanned and unsafe sex, and suicide.”
