Provisional results from the ongoing elections of the Makerere guild presidential race have showed that National Unity Platform (NUP) candidate Lawrence Alionzi alias Dangote is in a comfortable win with 2729 votes.
National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidate Hussein Ibra is the second with 953 votes as the tallying continues at the main Electoral Commission headquarters.
The online voting ended at 5pm and counting started but sources at the EC indicated to this publication that the process is smooth although some supporters have started congratulating candidates already.
We wait for the final declaration to be made by the Electoral body.
