Fifteen people are said to have died and 21 others injured in a nasty accident after a bus from Kampala to Gulu ramed into a stationary trailer at Adebe trading center along Kampala-Gulu highway.
According to a statement by police in Kamdini, 11 people died on the spot while 4 others died at Atapara Hospital where they had been rushed for treatment and some on critical condition for treatment.
It’s alleged that the Bus, Registration Number UAT 259P belonging to Roblyn bus company while on its way to Gulu from Kampala ramed into a stationary trailer at around midnight on the 6th of January 2023 along Kampala-Gulu highway, The trailer was loading at Adebe trading center just one kilometer to corner Kamdini check point according to Patrick Jimmy Okema, the North Kyoga regional police spokesperson.

The scene was also visited by Police traffic and general duty visited reported that 11 people died on spot while 4 others died from the hospital the total of 15 dead bodies.
Okema also said that the dead bodies had been taken to Anyeke Health centre IV pending postmortem.
“The Cause of the accident is yet to be established but preliminary findings indicates wrong parking by the trailer driver with no warning signs. he said adding that
It’s a very unfortunate incident, we call for calmness from members of the public, our condolences to the bereaved families”
According to a statement from Traffic police, early this week,104 road crashes were registered around the country between December 30, 2022 and January 1 the major cause of which being reckless driving. 20 of these were fatal, 39 had the victims seriously injured while 17 were minor accidents.
