Butabika FC, a promising 4th division football club competing in the Nakawa division of the Kampala region, held an esteemed end-of-season luncheon at Abala Motel, Butabika, on Thursday, July 20, 2023. The event was graced by the presence of the Nakawa Division Mayor, Mr. Paul Mugambe, who attended as the guest of honor, alongside the CEO of Maroons FC.

During the luncheon, Mayor Paul Mugambe addressed the attendees, expressing his commitment to supporting the club and ensuring the recovery of their home ground from the hospital management. He commended the club for fostering a nurturing environment for young talents and predicted that future football stars would emerge from Butabika FC. He encouraged the players to believe in themselves, work diligently, and maintain discipline, emphasizing that football has the potential to transform lives.

Butabika FC showcased a commendable performance in the recently concluded season, securing 5th position on the log with an impressive total of 40 points, only 7 points below the 4th placed Kyambogo FC.

The primary objective of the luncheon was to extend heartfelt appreciation to the players, technical staff, and fans for their unwavering support, dedication, and valuable contributions to the growth and development of Butabika FC. The management expressed deep gratitude towards all stakeholders, acknowledging that their collective efforts played a pivotal role in the club’s achievements during the season.

Notably, Butabika FC’s shirt sponsor, Mr. Tugume Ivan, representing Windsor Kennds, also addressed the gathering. He praised the players for their determination and resilience, acknowledging that the season had its challenges but expressing gratitude that the team successfully navigated them. Mr. Ivan extended his commitment to continue the partnership in the upcoming season, reaffirming Windsor Kennds’ support for the club’s aspirations.

“I thank God for the far we have come and where we are headed. You’re amazing players and once you continue with the discipline and hard work, your dreams are valid and you will be great football icons with time.” Said Butabika FC Chairman Mr.  Kenneth Almond Jabo.

Hisense, one of the club’s sponsor’s representatives Mr. Kelvin Gad had this to say about sponsoring the team, “Discipline being paramount amongst players we expect to as well raise a huge voice and support on matchday activities where we can.”

The end-of-season luncheon for Butabika FC was a grand celebration of the club’s progress and a gesture of appreciation to all those involved in its success. The event served as a remarkable demonstration of unity, determination, and the shared vision of making Butabika FC a powerhouse in the footballing landscape. With promising talent and support, the club’s future holds boundless potential, and the collective efforts of all involved are certain to pave the way for even greater accomplishments in the seasons to come.
