Uganda Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga has officially bid farewell after a recent reshuffle in the police’s top leadership saw him transferred to Interpol as Deputy Director. In a heartfelt message shared on Twitter, Enanga expressed his gratitude and pride for serving in his role over the last five years.

“Today, I come before you to bid farewell from the position of the Uganda Police Spokesperson, that I have held for the last 5 years. I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude, pride and humanity. I am leaving the position, as I came; grateful, excited and with a strong sense of national duty,” Enanga tweeted.

He will now take on the role of Deputy Director at the Directorate of Interpol and International Relations.

Enanga reflected on his tenure, calling it one of the greatest honors of his life. He expressed deep gratitude to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the police leadership for their invaluable support and trust.

“Above all, I would like to thank the Almighty God for his protection and guidance during my tenure,” he added.

He also extended his thanks to the territorial commanders across all jurisdictions for their unwavering commitment to protecting communities and upholding the values of integrity, professionalism, and compassion.

“Your collective efforts and support towards the office of the PRO continue to make a positive impact on the safety and well-being of our citizens,” Enanga noted.

Enanga welcomed his successor, ACP Rusoke Kituma, with high praise and a reminder of the immense responsibility ahead. “You are a fire brain and performer, keep doing what you are doing. Always act with integrity, and treat every member of the public with respect and compassion,” he advised.

He extended heartfelt gratitude to the officers and staff of the Press and Public Relations department, commending their resilience and dedication.

“Your resilience and dedication to the mission of Press and Public Relations made it an honor to lead and serve alongside you. I am confident that under your new leader, the department will continue to thrive and excel in its mission to protect and serve,” Enanga said.

To journalists, editors, and government communicators, Enanga expressed appreciation for their commitment and hard work. “We have accomplished many concerns on crime, safety, and security. I thank you all for the voice and heart that you put in your engagements,” he said, urging them to maintain professionalism and dedication.

Enanga also addressed the general public, thanking them for their insights, criticisms, and feedback. “Public safety is everyone’s priority and I urge you all to remain committed to working with the police in addressing all crime and safety concerns within your communities,” he emphasized.

In a heartfelt tribute to his family, Enanga expressed his deep gratitude for their unwavering love and support. “Your understanding, patience, and encouragement have been a bedrock of my success and I am forever grateful for your sacrifice,” he said.

Concluding his message, Enanga expressed pride and gratitude for the opportunity to serve as the Police Spokesperson. “I will always cherish the memories, friendship, and bonds we have formed. May you continue to serve the office of PRO with honor, courage, and dedication,” he said.

Fred Enanga’s tenure as Uganda Police Spokesperson has been marked by his dedication to duty, integrity, and effective communication. As he transitions to his new role at Interpol, his legacy within the Uganda Police Force will undoubtedly endure.
