At Salikwa Primary School with 1,600 pupils, there are seven classrooms while others have been abandoned because of the appalling conditions.
The Deputy headteacher Lawrence Nabugode Masaba says that the school is congested and that the desks are not enough to accommodate all the learners.
The school has only 246 desks being used by 1,800 learners. Masaba says that classroom blocks in the school are too old and need to be renovated.
At Bugunzu Primary School, Scovia Nafuna, the School Deputy Headteacher says that one of the classroom blocks had its roofs blown off and the pupils are now studying in a resource center. The school latrine is also on the verge of collapsing putting the lives of the learners and teachers at risk.

Richard Gusolo, the Deputy Head Teacher says that five classes are operating under trees. He said the school also lacks adequate desks.
At Town Side Primary School, Sulai Wamanga the Headteacher says that there are no adequate classrooms in the school after one of the blocks was also blown off by the heavy winds. He says that they are waiting for the completion of a classroom block that is under renovation by the Uganda People’s Defense Forces.
He also noted the pit latrines in the school have also filled up which has forced learners to share latrines with teachers.
