A minor has died at the children’s reception center at Kamuli central police station. The deceased is 12-year-old, Hadijah Namukombe. She reportedly died on Wednesday night. Namukombe was first registered as a lost and found child at Kiyunga police post in Kisozi sub county in Kamuli district on August 28th, 2022.
At officer attached to the Child and Family Protection Unit-CFPU, who spoke to URN on condition of anonymity says that Namukombe appeared healthy and played freely with other children at the center. “The child never presented any abnormalities throughout her stay at the center but it was shocking to learn about her death within the unit,” she said.

He says that they have handed over the deceased’s body to Kamuli general hospital mortuary for an autopsy to ascertain the exact cause of the death.
