As Airtel’s The Voice Africa continues to unleash the continent’s most talented voices earth has never heard, over 10 countries including Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Madagascar, Chad, DRC, Malawi, Niger, Zambia, Seychelles, and Nigeria who is the host of the competitions this time round have taken part.
Kampala who fully forwarded her 7 talents out of the 100 already fit for the competition, Desire Tusiimire and Ronny Ssemujjuare are amongst Uganda’s seven that have been so far selected for the next level of the competition.
The competition assimilated the global shows format that start with the first stage [Blind Auditions] second level [battle ground], followed by knockouts, playoffs and will conclude with the live shows.
During the blind auditions, coaches need to be astounded by the voice of the talent. If they are fascinated, they push a button to select the talent for their team whom they will get to coach and possibly turn into the next superstar.
When one gets lucky and more than one coach pushes the button, the contestant gets to choose the coach they want to work with. However if no coach turns or push a button, then the contestant gets eliminated.
Of the 7 Ugandan representatives, 4 are yet to perform which presents an opportunity for Uganda to have more contenders who will advance to the next stage of the competition.
All people are in anticipation to know which participant is representing their motherland however it is sad to say that one of Kampala’s contestants has been already eliminated.
Ethan Musoke, who performed “Jealousy” a song by Labrinth did not have any coach turn up for his performance shuttering his faith out of the race.
Many of his funs on twitter say, “He [Ethan Musoke] did really well, looks like the judges didn’t get it and it’s their loss not to retain such a talent!” they said sorrowfully in their twit.
Others said that Bambi luck was not on his side because the start was perfect but towards the end things changed.
Yemi Alade, Awilo Longomba, Lady Jaydee, and Charles Locko Samba from Cameroon will coach the talents who have successfully gone through the blind auditions.
The next episodes will always be aired every Sundays at 8:00 pm on cable TV, Free-To-Air, Airtel TV, and YouTube across the continent until September 2023 and once the show gets into the live performances, viewers will vote via different channels.
The winner will be announced and he /she will walk away with the grand prize of 100,000 US dollars.
