On a vibrant Saturday, the of July 29, 2023, football enthusiasts gathered at St. Henry’s Sports Center in Kabalagala to witness the thrilling Match Day 4 of the Butiki League’s Season 3.
The venue buzzed with excitement as players from different cohorts, passionate old boys supporting their respective teams, and enthusiastic football all converged to celebrate the beautiful game of football.
The day kicked off at 10:30 AM with a series of exciting fixtures. Among them, the defending champions, Nyulya FC edged passes Mines FC in a 4-2 win coming from two goals down.
One of the league’s most exciting teams, O-Five FC, made history by securing maximum points in all three of their fixtures. The achievement sparked euphoric celebrations among their cohort.
Maintaining the unbeaten streak, the defending champions continued their reign at the top of the league table with 36 points from 12 games. Their lead extended to a commanding 8 points above the second-placed Kasadhakawo FC, who displayed their prowess with a convincing 4-2 victory against a stubborn Bugoma FC.
Adding to the atmosphere, old girls from Nakanyonyi Girls School (NOGA) graced the event, supporting the league’s spirit of inclusivity and diversity.
KICOBA’s Chairperson, Mr. Batesaki Aggrey, was also present at the event and applauded the league committee for their exceptional organization. Recognizing the Butiki League as a platform for aspiring talents to showcase their skills and seize opportunities, he pledged the association’s support for the league’s continued growth.
