The Police are investigating an incident in which a 13-year-old boy was allegedly killed in Kassanda District.
It is alleged that Paddy Tumukunde who was a Primary Six pupil at Highlight Junior Academy went missing on Sunday. He was last seen going to buy a bicycle from Kisalizi Village after selling his pig at 120,000 Shillings. The bicycle was meant to ease Tumukunmde’s transport to and from school.
According to Wamala Region Police Spokesperson, Rachel Kawala, Tumukunde was last seen in the company of a resident identified as Zambi and a one Matovu in a trading centre. She said that after the search by residents and parents of the deceased, Zambi was arrested and that when he was interrogated, he confessed to having killed Tumukunde and took them where Tumukunde’s body was dumped.
According to Kawala after confessing to the crime, residents in the area lynched Zambi.
The double murder incident is third bringing to five the number of people killed under unclear and cases being investigated by the Police in less than a week.
The Police are investigating a double murder incident in connection with the death of a 5-year-old Rihanna Namuyombya a resident of Buwejje Trading Centre, Kyato Parish, Mbirizi Sub County in Kassanda District, and Arian Senkumba, her killer.
It is alleged that Namuyombya was murdered by Senkumbi who was also pursued and killed instantly by the mob at Kampindu village Mbirizi sub-county.
Kawala said that the preliminary findings show that Nosiata Nankumba, mother of the deceased went with her daughter to the garden to dig at Busana village Kyato parish Mbirizi sub-county.
Kawala said that the Police are also investigating cases of aggravated defilement and murder of a 10-year-old Christine Namukisa by a yet to be identified person.
It is alleged that the deceased was defiled by an unknown person on February 10 and a case of aggravated defilement was reported at Ntwetwe Police station but the girl who was in Primary 3 at Bambala died.
