URN.Vincent Twesige, the Rwenzori West police spokesperson explains that around 9:30 pm on August 5th, 2022 while having dinner with her family, Kabasomi received a phone call from an unidentified person.
Police in Fort portal are holding 25-year-old Adolf Musabe Karatunga in connection with the murder of Erina Kabasomi, a resident of Kigarama cell Kasisi ward Kiko town council.
Karatunga was picked up after confessing to his boss, retired Col. Patrick Mwesige on the phone that he had killed someone. Retired Col. Patrick Mwesige immediately informed officers at Kiko police post leading to the arrest of the suspect. The suspect led police to the areas where he had dumped Kabasomi’s body.

She moved out to receive the call and never returned which prompted her family members to move out to trace her whereabouts in vain until when they recieved never about her murder.
The deceased’s husband, Lawrence Baguma, a catechist at Kaswa catholic church, says that his wife was a good person and doesn’t know what could have led to her murder by anew person in the village. He has called for thorough police investigations into the circumstances leading to his wife’s murder.
Police dispatched the deceased’s body to Fort Portal Regional referral hospital pending postmortem as inquiries continue to establish the cause of the murder.
