While launching their national tour where they expect to mobilize their supporters, and open offices ahead of the next elections, Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine cautioned security personnel against interfering with their business.
“You have seen Museveni’s son illegally moving across the country but with protection. We don’t want your protection, we just want you not
to interfere with our business,” Kyagulanyi who is the president of the National Unity Platform (NUP) announced that they will start traversing the country on August 28 as a mandate of the party but also that of the National Constitution.
He made the call during their media briefing at their party offices in Kamwokya following nearly a fortnight embedded with abroad campaigns together with a few party leaders.
Since coming into the political environment, Bobi Wine’s mobilization and political meetings have been met with disruptions including blocking them from happening by the police and other security apparatus.
“Having traveled all over and galvanized the support, we are back on the ground and today we want to take this opportunity to announce to the country that we are going to carry out a nationwide tour,” Kyagulangi said. The meetings will be intended to meet with their leaders, opening their offices across the country but also addressing the people of Uganda a matter that is not outside the law.

Kyagulanyi was however sceptical of how it never ended well for his team the last time they tried to carry out their party activities. Some of their members were buttered and arrested though they were not willing to give in.
Adding, “So to the people of Mbarara we are coming to you on Monday the 28 and we are going to be opening our office and Maghsingh Street then meet at the global high school playground.
