Owekitiibwa Dan Muliika, former Katikiro of buganda has advised Hon. Mpuuga Mathias to come out with an explanation under which the 500m was allocated to him instead of making excuses.
“Mpuuga has a responsibility of explaining how that money is ,is it a routine,is everybody earning it,is it once because if it is once then it is dangerous it will look as if it was a bribe” Owek.Muliika said.
This comes after news that has been making rounds that Mpuuga illegally received money from the government when he was still Leader of Opposition in Parliament and the party asked him to resign from the position of commissioner which was appointed to him months ago.
“National Unity Platform has sacked former Leader of Opposition Mathias Mpuuga from the role of commissioner, just weeks after he was named in the position citing allegations of corruption following the ongoing online protest dubbed #Ugandaparliamentexhibition” our reporter wrote last week.
Through a press release,Mpuuga declined the request that was made by National Unity Platform (NUP) leadership asking him to resign as a commissioner of parliament saying that the party has no right to ask him to step down especially when he’s being accused wrongly.
“I will accordingly decline the cowardly call for me to resign from the position of parliamentary commissioner”Hon.Mpuuga.
Owek.Muliika has also called for reconciliation between the two parties and urged them to involve party mercenaries in this case.
“Mpuuga and NUP have never agreed so they should look for reconciliation, they should involve the party macinary,if they forgot to put in a close of reconciliation when there is such a case then they should look for outsiders”
