The Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II has cautioned Ugandans against betrayal and showing double standards to people they are working with because of money and wealth as part of his Easter message to the people of Uganda in a statement
“The lessons we learn and get reminded during every easter celebration is how Peter denied Jesus Christ and Judas Escariot betrayed him.Lets always stand firm by what we believe in such that we do not betray our own because of rich and wealth,”Kabaka Mutebi says in a statement.
He also added “We must respect and abide by the agreements we always make at personal basis with neither witnesses nor written documents but to trust each other as people.It is a very important aspect especially torwards our leaders and politicians as we remember the love and humility that was displayed in the suffering and ressurection of our Lord Jesus Christ”.
The Kabaka’s message comes amidst an ongoing crisis amoungst National Unity Platform NUP leaders where the party is accusing its former leader of opposition in parliament LOP Hon.Mathias Mpuuga of corruption and misuse of public office when he was still the LOP.
His Majesty the king also commended the citizens on the fight they have put up against HIV/AIDS in the country,he has also urged people to put in more efforts to fight against the spread of the virus.
“There’s progress in the fight against HIV/AIDS and data shows that the 10 districts in Buganda that were highly affected by the virus has reduced to three.This shows commendable progress across the country in the battle against the spread of HIV/AIDS,” Kabaka said.
He also added “We urge our people across the country to increase their efforts in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
The King has also urged Ugandans to come out in large numbers on 07th April 2024 and participate in the ongoing Kabaka’s birthday run that is aimed at raising funds to support the fight against the spread of the virus this year under the theme “THE FIGHT TO END AIDS BY 2030”.
National Unity Platform is one of the political party’s that has come out to pay support to the kingdom this week when it contributed 21Millions torwards the cause.And more companies and individuals are still pledging support.
