After months of speculation about his wellbeing, the King of Buganda Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, has shared an update on his health, stating that it has steadily improved.
In a short video message lasting 2 minutes and 15 seconds, released on Monday, King Mutebi greeted his subjects from Namibia, where he is currently on holiday as per his doctors’ advice.
“We have spent some good time without hearing from you while following the doctors’ prescription who asked us to be away from work,” the King said. “Our health is steadily improving, and I hope to come back home soon.”
He expressed gratitude to God for preserving him and the Buganda Kingdom during these challenging times.
“We thank God who has kept us and Buganda Kingdom at large and not losing hope in these trying moments,” he added.
The King also conveyed his appreciation to the Katikkiro (Prime Minister), Ministers, and Buganda chiefs for their continued service to the kingdom during his absence.
“We thank the Katikkiro, Ministers, and Buganda chiefs for continuously serving the kingdom for the time when we are absent from our country,” he said.
This reassuring message from the King has been welcomed by his subjects, who have been eagerly awaiting news of his well-being.
