The National Unity Platform (NUP) has thrown its weight behind Alliance for National Transformation’s (ANT) Alice Alaso ahead of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) candidate calling all forces of change to come out and support in the upcoming Serere county by election.
Mr Joel Ssenyonyi NUP spokesperson also said that they have always advocated for working together as the opposition to oust the sitting government of the National Resistance Movement (NRM)for the betterment of the country.

In 2022,NUP president Robert Kyagulanyi together with other party leaders and members joined Dr Kiiza Besigye (FDC) in conversing votes for the FDC’s Moses Attan on the last day of campaigns. Kyagulanyi then said that the opposition must form a United front if they want to defeat President Museveni.
Mr Ssenyonyi asserted that in bid for a bigger cause and goal the National Unity Platform, will be going to Serere in support to the Alice Alaso who’s the flag bearer of Alliance for National Transformation (ANT).
