Maj Gen Matayo Kyaligonza has been reappointed as the Ambassador to Burundi , a position he has held for more than a decade now.
Gen Kyaligonza has been in a series of controversial stories in the media including the alleged assault of a traffic officer in Nakawa along Jinja -Kampala highway in 2019.
His appointment came together with 37 more Ambassadors and four deputies appointed to different countries by President Yoweri Museveni and the names await parliamentary approval.
Also appointed to Turkey is former Arua Municipality 2018 by-election NRM candidate, Nusura Tiperu.
“By virtue of the powers vested in the President of the Republic of Uganda, by Article 122 (1), I hereby appoint the following as Ambassadors, High Commissioners and Deputy Ambassadors to the respective brotherly and friendly countries as listed here below,” in part read the Presidential appointment.
