The body of an unidentified man has been found dumped in Bugoma Central Forest Reserve in Kikuube district.
The body was found by residents of Rwenkobe village, Kaseeta Parish in Kabwoya sub-county who are neighboring the forest reserve as they went to collect firewood on Monday afternoon.
James Mucunguzi, one of the residents says that some women who had gone to collect firewood were shocked after discovering the decomposing body.
Desire Nkurunziza, the Nyairongo Village LCI Chairperson that is also neighboring the forest reserve explains that the deceased is not a resident in the area. He suspects that the deceased could have been killed elsewhere and his body dumped in the area. The body had deep cuts in the head and face.
According to Nkurunziza, residents teamed up and buried the body in the forest reserve after notifying police.
This is not the first time a body is dumped in Bugoma Central Forest Reserve. In September, police recovered the body of an unidentified woman from the forest reserve.
The body was found dumped near Nyanseeke village in Kaseeta parish. The deceased who was believed to be in her mid-30s had deep cuts on the head, face, and around the left breast.
