Hundreds of youths on Friday gathered at the Nsambya Youths Encountering the Savior (YES) Center for the end of the year prayers. Rev. Fr. Joseph Luzindana, the Kampala Archdiocese Youths Chaplain who led the prayers urged the youths to forget the challenges they faced in 2021, but be grateful to God for ushering them in the new year.
He asked the youths to emulate Jesus Christ by serving God during their youthful age saying that even Jesus Christ was a youth during his time of service on earth.
Rev. Fr Joseph Mary Ssebunya from Gaba Seminary asked the youth to always repent to God for the sins and all that they have not done right in the past year so as to get the blessings in the new year.
He said that Catholic youth and children should spearhead the development in the church while exhibiting exemplary lives to the rest of the population.
Nankya Plaxeda said that she has come to that the lord for the good he has done for him and also healing her from COVID-19.
Sarah Asiimwe from Makindye said that she has come for this year’s prayers to thank God for what he has done for him in 2021.
