The Kitagwenda District Chief Administrative Officer David Lubuka has been transferred to Kapelabyong District.
In January, unknown people locked Lubuka’s office. They broke the door glasses and chained the door frames with two padlocks. Lubuka was accused of involving in conflicts with politicians and civil servants in the district.
Last month, the State Minister of local government Victoria Businge Rusoke intervened in the conflict between the CAO and political leaders.
Lubuka has been replaced by Richard Ssebandeke. During the function held on Thursday, Lubuka asked the new CAO to follow up on district commitments such as local revenue collection, the Dura Limestone quarry conflict.
He also requested Ssebandeke to maintain staff discipline and ensure a good working relationship between the technical staff and political leaders.
Ismail Mushemeza, the LCV Chairperson asked the new CAO to create a good working environment for civil servants and politicians, and fight against corruption and shoddy work in the district.
Lubuuka assumed office as Kitagwenda district CAO on February 10, 2021 serving for only one year.
