Amuriat told URN that he was not feeling well to continue with the campaign program. He said that he had assigned his team to carry on with the campaigns. However, there was no sign of any UPC agents in Kichinjaji and Akism wards except for the NRM’s Candidate, Herbert Edmund Ariko.
Ariko was expected in Akisim ward on Wednesday but he was unable to reach the planned venues.

The hunt for votes continues in Soroti as the other two candidates reach voters in different corners.
Forum for Democratic Change-FDC candidate Moses Attan Okia is canvassing votes with the party’s President, Patrick Amuriat Oboi in Opuyo, Acetgwen, and Campswahili wards while the NRM’s Herbert Edmund Ariko is in Moruapesur and Kengere wards.
The NRM candidate has been joined on the campaign trail by the Prime Minister, Robinah Nabbanja, the State Minister for Karamoja Affairs, Agnes Nanduttu, and the Teso Affairs Minister, Kenneth Obote Ongalo.
Ariko has also been boosted by other government officials including the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Thomas Tayebwa, and Minister of Health, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng among others.
The Soroti East MP by-elections are scheduled for Thursday after the Court of Appeal nullified the election of Attan Okia in May over the erroneous annexation of Aloet and Opiyai wards to Soroti West Constituency.
