URN.It is alleged that the leaflets were dropped in different places with in Mityana Municipality in Mityana District which include; Prisons, Mityana Junior School, Mityana Taxi Park and Kiyudaaya Village in Busimbi Division among other residential places.
The Police in Mityana are investigating the source and intentions of leaflets dropped in various places in the district threatening violence to the citizens.
The leaflets dropped by unknown people indicate that a war has been launched to overthrow the government which is contrary to the governing laws.
It is alleged that the leaflets were dropped in different places with in Mityana Municipality in Mityana District which include; Prisons, Mityana Junior School, Mityana Taxi Park and Kiyudaaya Village in Busimbi Division among other residential places.
It is alleged that the unknown people also attempted to burn the premises of Mityana Junior primary school. Wamala Region Police Spokesperson, Rachael Kawala confirmed the developments revealing that the anonymous letters were mainly directed to the government and security installations.
She said that investigations into the anonymous letters have commenced in a move to arrest and prosecute whoever is behind them.
Kawala also said that the Police is alert and have intensified operations together with other sister security agencies to hunt down the culprits. She says Police task teams have embarked on intensifying sensitisation in most areas to awaken members of the public.
Kawala asked the public to always be vigilant and report any suspicious events and characters to the authorities.
In September 2021, similar anonymous letters were dropped in different spots near government offices warning of attacks that would take place in Masaka District.
