The National Unity Platform which is led by Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has today repatriated over 78 Ugandans from United Arab Emirates.
Barbie Kyagulanyi Itungo together with the party spokesperson Mr Joel Ssenyonyi and some party MPs have welcomed these people back cautioning the government to strengthen the laws governing labor export.
“It is very unfortunate that these people leave this country in search for greener pastures because this government has not created employment opportunities for the young people but the government doesn’t even bother to engage or make sure it’s citizens are safe in those particular countries” Mr Ssenyonyi said.
The repatriated Ugandans have condemned government officials for accusing them of not having travel documents especially passports, they have said it’s a lie.
“Surprisingly other countries have been repatriating their nationals but our country only hasn’t done anything, instead accused us of not having passports,we all have passports and they have simply failed us,” one of the repatriats said.
The batch that arrived today join the first batch of 70 that was received last week by the party and they have called upon all Ugandans who can contribute towards this cause of repatriation.
