The Serere Constituency MP Patrick, his wife Christine Okabe and their driver Jacob, have lost their lives in a fatal road accident that occurred early this morning December 19, 2022 in Naboa town council along the Mbale Tirinyi road, Budaka District.
According to the police statement, Isuzu box body registration number KCX 071K heading to Mbale lost control, ramming into the Okabe’s Landcruiser registration number UBK 995F.
“The of the accident has been attributed to the Isuzu box body driver who was overspreading, drifted from his side to the side of the Landcruiser that was coming from Mbale heading to Iganga and a head on collision,” in part read a statement authored by Ms Faridah Nampiima, the spokesperson of traffic police.
It is reported said that Okabe who was in the behind sit died on spot, his wife and the driver identified as Jacob who were both in a critical condition passed on as they were being rushed to the Mbale Hospital.
By press time the driver of the Fuso box body was still on the run after causing the accident .
