A group of tourists, myself iclusive from various parts of the country thronged the museum along Kira road in Kampala to join a group that will for the next 4 days visit various attractions in Eastern Uganda a region known locally as bamasaba land a reference to the Bamasaba(Bagisu), the largest ethnic group living at the foot of Mount Elgon.
Here, we were readyied for the experience ahead by officials from the Uganda tourism board, the ministry of tourism and veteren tour operator Amos Wekesa.
Leading us through it all was State Minister for Tourism Martin Mugarra Bahinduka.
Minister Bahinduka welcomed us along this trip which he promised to be an experience of a lifetime.

“I welcome you all to the Peary of Africa and Uganda is indeed a very beautiful country.”
Bahinduka also introduced a group of brand ambassodors and influencers who will be taking the trip to tour Eastern Uganda.
“Am honored to introduce to you our tourism influencers madrat and chiko ,sheebah Kalungi, Golola Moses , silk Stuart and Roja accompanied by the miss tourism group” he said
Even before driving a single mile away from the starting point, it was evident that this was cut out to be a fun experience with funny men Madrat and chiko being comical from the start and Golola Moses who was clad in traditional bark cloth attire and his championship belt kept dancing. It is safe to say we were already being entertained.
Uganda tourism board CEO Lilly Ajarova urged all individuals to take tourism to the next level and not to only stop at attending such gatherings.
“you can fuel your car and drive for adventure and tour to know more about your own country .” she said
Thereafter the ministry flagged us off and our journey to the East started.
