Uganda Cranes forward, Chris Akena has completed a juicy move to first division giant Al Rams football club in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Since January 2022, the swift forward has been a free agent after his contract at Shabab Alahli in Dubai expired.
Akena got his first national team call-up in January 2022 during the international friendlies in the UAE. His debut in the national colors was against Iraq and Bahrain where he put a commendable performance.
Akena started his football in Bweyogerere, Wakiso District in Proway Soccer Academy. He was one of the players that represented Uganda in the Aspire academy in Qatar and played for Maroons FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League
“I want to thank the almighty God for making this happen. I feel good to be here and looking forward to helping the club achieve its desired goals for the season as hoping for the best.” Said Akena after putting pen to paper.
The dribbling forward joins several Ugandans plying their trade in the United Arab Emirates.
