Parliamentary Committee on rules and privileges has again summoned Mr Zaake Francis after the legislator was accused of skipping the last sitting.
On Monday January 30, 2023 parliamentary committee on discipline through the office of the clerk again summoned to appear before the committee to defend himself on the said allegations of misconduct and misbehavior.
“Accordingly, I have been directed to invite you to appear before the committee and defend yourself against the said allegations on Thursday 2nd February 2023 @ 10am in Training suits committee room 413D fourth floor, north wing parliament building, “Clerk stated in the letter.
Mr Chris Obore, the Director of communications and Public affairs of Parliament said that this action was following the directive of the clerk of parliament advising the honorable to return the vehicle since his impeachment from the office of commissioner in March 2022 and he didn’t comply.
Zaake has been asked to come with witnesses or any documents or materials that could be relevant to this inquiry because the committee is set with its witnesses. And he will be given an opportunity to examine them willingly.
“I have been further directed to inform you that the witnesses namely;Technical Officers from the parliamentary department of official report and the division police commandant ,parliamentary police will attend the said meeting and you will if you wish be given an opportunity to cross examine them,” Ms Agatha Ankunda added.
Zaake, for the third time in two years has been charged and investigated on disciplinary grounds two of which he has been exonerated.
It should also be remembered that on 12th January 2023 ,the clerk Ms Agatha Ankunda ordered the parliamentary police to withdraw Government vehicle Reg.no. UG 0333H from the legislator’s home while he was out of the country on his annual medical check up in Canada.
