The Ministry of Internal affairs has detained three foreigners and one Uganda national as they were attempting to fraudulently get Ugandan Passports.
Simon Peter Mundeyi the Ministry’s spokesperson told journalists at Police headquarters in Naguru that the three foreigners were arrested last week from the passport office at the Ministry of Internal affairs headquarters.
“The three foreigners arrested included Ishime Gadyeri alias Ayime who is an artist and a Burundian National who had staged as Ugandan National of a munyakole tribe from Kiruhura district, a Rwandan National identified as Kaliisa Sam a resident of Kitemu who had earlier obtained a Ugandan National Identity card by false means.
The other is a Nigerian National dealing in computer identified as Saudas David Joshua who staged as a Ugandan National in the names of Damba Joshua and was arrested together with Sseruwagi Gibson a Ugandan National a blocker who has been helping them to get documents,” Mr Mundeyi said.
Mundeyi says that Kaliisa Sam was arrested and detained at Jinja Road police custody but he manager to escape and they are hunting him.
Meanwhile Simon Peter Mundeyi asked Ugandans to desist from being used in helping foreigners to obtain documents like passports because it will land them in trouble as it happened to a one Sseruwagi who will face serious cases.
