Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Salim Jamal Magoola is set to feature in a documentary that will be released on 3rd April 2023 on YouTube.
This 10-minute short documentary titled ‘Salim Jamal Magoola: Believing in God’, it will take an all-round view of the shot-stopper’s life.
Magoola promises to talk about his life and career with the Cranes, the goalkeeper on and off the pitch, focusing on how much his Islamic faith has helped him stay grounded and persevere through life’s challenges.
Magoola recently got his first call-up to the national team in two years for the doubleheader against Tanzania and he made a clean sheet as they won 1-0 in Dar es Salaam during the ongoing 2023 AFCON qualifiers.
It’s reported he had fallen out with the federation Fufa. The 27-year-old is currently playing for Richards Bay in South Africa Premier League where he has been outstanding as his debutant with 11 clean sheets in 22 games.
The lanky goalkeeper will talk about the genesis of his career and the documentary will not only focus on the highs of his playing history but also the lows – like his struggles to get back on his feet after leaving Sudanese side Al Hilal Omdurman.
This production is by celebrated sports journalist and film maker Darren Allan Kyeyune.
