Shortly after a popular blogger Isma Olaxes alias Ibrahim Tusubilwa was gunned down near his residence at Kyanja Central Zone on Saturday 6, the Residential City Commissioner Mr. Kasim Kamugisha has come out to call for a policy that mandates all Residents that built in the capital and on the main roads have CCTV cameras placed on their residentials
The call to action comes at a time when also State Minister for labor employment and industrial relations RTD Col Charles Okello Engola was shot dead by his bodyguard earlier this week however in the same locality.
Mr. Kamugisha notes that as the ruling body, the leadership of especially the Kampala City Council Authority ( KCCA), both politicians and technical needed to come up with a policy that mandated all citizens that require to have the residential homes be constructed in the Capital and on main roads seek for two plans including that for the construction and for the installation of CCTV cameras
He noted that failure to abide to that then a person like in the case of pavers be denied approval for his intended construction plan
” We all know how cameras even in those developed countries have been used and in cases were government cameras have gotten any fault then private cameras are used to compliment,” RCC reacted.
Adding that being a member of the Fourth Estate the media also needed to join the compaign to especially sensitize the masses to abide by the policy incase it’s adopted
“Sometimes it’s the media pushing narratives of someone is behind this and only wants to make profit out of this, we need your full support and not insinuating anything,”
In the meantime, Kamugisha urged the public to remain calm and that the situation was being handled proficiently by the security personnels and that a full report be written and results deseminated soon
The body of lsma was then drove off to the City Mortuary at Mulago were it will later be handed back to the family to be accorded a descent burrial tomorrow at Nkokongyeru in Mukono district.
Earlier on repots from the Territorial Police at Kira Road, indicated that at approximately 9:20 PM in Kyanja Central Zone there was an unfortunate demise of Tusubilwa Ibrahim, also known as Isma Olaxes, popularly known as Jaja Ichili. The incident took place while Mr. Tusubilwa Ibrahim was traveling in his motor vehicle, registered under number UBK 213 D, with his driver, Mr. Waswa Mathias.
According to the preliminary reports indicated that an unidentified gunman armed with an SMG opened fire on the vehicle, resulting in the fatal shooting of Tusubilwa Ibrahim, who was seated in the passenger seat at the time of the attack. Our dedicated task teams are currently on the ground, working diligently to gather all available evidence and conduct thorough investigations into this heinous crime.
“As a precautionary measure, the area has been cordoned off to ensure the safety of the public and to facilitate the ongoing investigation process. We assure the public that every effort is being made to bring the perpetrators to justice and provide answers to this senseless act of violence,” the statement reads in part.
Urging all residents to remain calm and cooperate with the authorities as we work towards resolving this case swiftly.
