The league was excited ti welcome a new team on board in Super Dip FC cohort of 1994-1999 and it’s the second oldest cohort in the league. The team was captained by mr Sewaya Ismail Miti who doubles as a match general coordinator trained by by FUFA and CAF, and the current games teacher at the hill of intellectuals.
When asked about their first experience at the league, this is what he had to say, “The Butiki league was a great experience for us. It gave us an opportunity to meet after so many years, I thank my cohort class for joining the league especially Rwabu Davies ( Lecturer at MUK and Gen Secretary KICOBA), Counsel Julius Galisonga ( Lawyer and Vice Chairman PTA at KCB). The next matchday will be massive, trust me. Our players in the diaspora have confirmed their presence eg Julius Wankuta (Boston), among others.”
On the other end, Winter FC and 0-Five FC were not unable to turn for the match day due to unavoidable circumstances which they had to communicate to the Butiki League Executive Committee in writing.
The match day was climaxed with the famous variety night that brought the old boys together from different walks of life to showcase their skills and reminisce about their school days. The night featured many activities like rap battles, mimes and dance-offs. One of the highlights of the night was the electrifying performance by Guntu FC who danced to Mudra’s hit, Balo Balo and then a stunning performance by Nyulya FC.
