Festival23 is a Football for Good event organized by Football United Australia with the shared objective of promoting football as a force for positive change, which holds paramount significance.
This is an immersive 8-day youth festival centered around Football for Good, and it commenced during the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023’s quarter-final week. Unlike conventional competitive football, Football for Good leverages the sport as a transformative tool to positively impact lives, with a specific focus on refugees and underserved communities.
Fahaby, a distinguished coach and senior coordinator at Uganda’s Football without Borders organization, which falls under the umbrella of the Football for Good initiative, was chosen to represent her home country, Uganda, at Festival 23.
The stylish female young coach happens to be the first Ugandan to partake in this remarkable event.
“Securing this opportunity was an immense honor. I was genuinely elated to have my application accepted and looked forward to networking, learning from fellow female coaches, and benefiting from the insights of the facilitators.” Kitimbo told this website about her experience at the event
This gathering of approximately seventy young women delegates from diverse corners of the world underscores the international resonance of Festival 23.
Fahaby Kitimbo is a former professional football player at Makerere University, from 2014 to 2019.
