The police in Aswa East Region and Pader District have put up a serious manhunt for the Acumu village Chairman LC2 who has gone into hiding for allegedly defiling his 15-year-old stepdaughter.
The police say that on August 7, 2023, at around midnight, Christopher Ali Bongonyonge picked a panga as soon as he returned home, started accusing the victim of having love affairs with village boys, and forced her to sleep with him in the same room.
“While in the room at around midnight, he instructed the victim to lead him to her boyfriend’s place however, along the way Bongonyonge pushed his stepdaughter into a nearby bush defiled her, and returned home. The victim narrated the whole story to her other relatives who filed the case at Acholibur CPS in the Pader district,” a police report signed off by Mr Fred Enanga the police spokesperson indicated in part.
“We appeal to anyone with information about the whereabouts of the suspect to inform the nearest police unit,” said Enanga.
Enanga reminded all guardians, parents, and half-parents, that children look to them for their safety however, it’s disappointing for such trust to be broken by mentors and role models.
