Ogwal succumbed to cancer on January18th 2024.
Currently a total of 13 women politicians, including the daughter of the late MP Ogwal, Dr Rosmery Ogwal have expressed their interest to contest for the seat.
As per the Electoral Commission directive in a press briefing and update of the National voters register for Dokolo District will take place from February 12th to 15th 2024 followed by the display of registers at polling stations from February 21st to March 01st 2024 .
Nominations of candidates at the office of the returning officer will take place on March 11th to 12th 2024.The following day returning officers will convene with candidates to align campaign schedules establish liaison committees
Campaigns will commence on March 13th to 19th.During this time training and issuance of appointment letters to polling day officials, political party representatives and candidate agents will be carried out.
March 18th 2024 is a scheduled polling day for special interest groups which includes the male councilors for older persons in Batta sub county, Batta town council and Kwera sub county .
Polling day for the woman representative in parliament, sub county councilor for Adagmon Parish,woman councillor for Agoga parish and the sub county councilor for Apenyang parish will take place on March 21st 2024.
The Electoral Commission called upon all stakeholders in Dokolo district to participate in these activities following guidelines for the by elections.
