Omutaka Eng Bbosa Lwomwa, leader of the Ndiga clan was on Sunday laid to rest at Mbaale, Mawokota district
Eng Bbosa was last week involved in a shooting that claimed his life by assailants who were riding on a motorcycle. The police said that they had trailed and shot at his car a few meters from his home in Lungujja following his meeting with the clan members in Buikwe district, accompanied by his wife who narrowly survived the incident having travelled next to her husband.
Attended by officials including head of the leading opposition Party National Unity Platform (NUP) Robert Kyagulanyi and the Buganda kingdom led by the first deputy prime Minister hon Twaha Kawasaki and some ministers, Engineer Bbosa was rapped in 150 backcloth materials under 15 Feet as part of the cultural rites for all clan leaders that pass on.
“We demand that investigations into his murder are conducted efficiently and expeditiously so that the perpetrators are brought to justice,” Kyagulanyi noted.
The NUP party leader also a first line descendant from the Ndiga female side courtesy of his late mother Margaret Nalunkuuma who was a first cousin to the fallen clan head (Omujjwa), and represented his mother and my clan in the cultural rites of the traditional burial of a clan head as per the Buganda tradition.
Minister Kaawaasi also called for speedy investigation and those involved apprehended by the law enforcement officers to bring justice to the entire family, friends and relatives.
The new clan leader, Omutaka Lwasi Eria Buzaabo pledge to continue with the late Lwomwa’s legacy emphasizing unity as a center for development for their clan members.
The Ndiga clan remains one of the most prestigious of the 54 that are compromised of the Buganda kingdom. Their duties among others including building boats for the kingdom.
