Cultural leaders from Busoga have sought the audience of the speaker of Parliament Rt Hon Anita Among over comments that National Unity Platform (NUP) Deputy Speaker Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro made last week.
At the burial of Mr Waiswa Ramathan, Mr Mufumbiro insinuated that the speaker has personal fights with the former speaker Mr Rebecca Kadaga indicating that Busoga supports the latter and that she should be left in piece.
Ramathan ‘s burial had been graced by hundrends of mourners including among others politicians from all different sects at Butende in Bugweri district with the speaker as the Chief Mourner.
In a statement released by the Prime Minister revealed that over 30 Cultural leaders from the Chiefdom were interested in seeking the speakers audience to offer their physical appology in what was regarded to as an uncivilized, unruly and statements by Mufumbiro
” We the Ministers Abamagombolola ( Sub- County Chiefs in Culture) and clan leaders of Bugweri Chiefdom we take our sincere apology on the statements made by Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro during the burial of Counsel Waiswa Ramathan…… We would like to condemn it with the strongest terms possible as Obwa Menyha we respect and embrace all leaders irrespective of their tribes, sex, age amongothers,” statement reads in part.
Adding, as ministers, Abamagombolola, clan leaders we are therefore seeking an appointment with over 30 people including ministers as annex to take their sincere apology.
Among those expected to attend include ministers, religious leaders, opinion leaders, Head of clan , Parish Chiefs, Advisors and the Prime Minister.
