President Museveni has rallied all masses to engage in wealth generating activities despite their religious beliefs, a statement issued from State House has indicated.
Museveni who says he professes christianity noted that if religion was correctly interpreted by the masses and the teachings followed to the dot then it would definitely add value to the lives of many Ugandans.
“As a follower of one of the new religions, Christianity, but also a firm traditional munyankore, I can testify that the new religions, definitely added value to the quality of our lives if you grasp the correct interpretation of the religious teachings that do not decamping work and promote the idea of miracle wealth without work,” Museveni said.
Adding, in his own life, he had seen several phenomena of divine intervention that facilitated our work. This however he adds that the divine interventions were on top of their tireless work. “Lubaale mbeera, nembiro kwatadde” (God helps those who help themselves), our ancestors pointed out.
Museveni thus urged, all believers and everybody else, please engage in wealth creation and that for the religious leaders, the cultural leaders, the parents among other stakeholders will be blessed if they amplified this message of wealth creation and of common sense.
Recently while celebrating Eid Aftri, His Eminence the Mufti of Uganda Sheikh Ramadan Mubajje also urged the Muslim fraternity to make use of the different government programs including among others the Parish development model to attain a certain level of income in their homesteads.
The different wealth creation programs had recently faced resistance from especially the Muslim clerics sighting elements that are contrary to the lslamic faith (Ribbah/ interest) which was a major hurdle and thus couldn’t get them to encourage Muslims to join the different programs. The president according to the Muslim leader has since resolved the issue and now Muslims can freely engage in such wealth creating opportunities
He thus saluted all Ugandans that have got out of this shame of living outside the money economy and are now living a better life and that let nobody remain behind as it remains a challenge to the political leaders of the respective areas.
