Police FC have re-discovered their winning ways with a 5-0 thumping of Bright Stars FC in a StarTimes Premier League match played this afternoon at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
Goals from Juma Balinya, Emmanuel Mugume, Herman Wasswa, Erick Senjobe, and Muwadda Mawejje helped the Cops register their biggest win of the season as they slowly get back to good form.
Police FC started the match with intent before Balinya put them in the lead after 12 minutes finishing off a Tonny Mawejje. Six minutes later Muwadda Mawejje doubled the to give Police a 2-0 lead at half time.
In the second half Bright Stars tries to fight back, but failed to break the Police defending line. After 65 minutes Senjobe made it 3-0 for Police FC with a well timed header. Wasswa and Mugume also got their names on the scoring sheet.
This is the third straight victory for Police FC which started the season poorly where they played over eight games without picking a win. Police FC moved to 12th position on the log with 12 points, while Bright Stars are in 14th position..
Deo Sserwadda, the Police FC technical director, Police FC said the team is steadily picking good form back after management sorted some internal issues that were affecting the players.
In other Premier League matches played today Gaddafi FC defeated Mbarara City 1-0. Amos Kirya netted the lone goal after 20 minutes. Vipers SC currently lead the table with 29 points, while KCCA FC are in second place with 28 points.
